What the Pump Cartridge Does
Many circulators (notably Taco and Grundfos models) use a replaceable cartridge that contains the rotor, bearings and impeller. Swapping the cartridge restores the pump without replacing the whole flanged body — a fast, economical repair.
The cartridge houses the spinning wet-rotor assembly; replacing it renews the worn moving parts while keeping the existing pump volute and flanges in place.
